Here We Go - Because I Am the Mom

I have been hearing this song running in my head as we start our school year.

It is just tooooooooooooooooo true.

So today enjoy with me the Momisms Song!

Pat yourself on the back for all the years you have also said these words.

Laugh!  Singing along!  For all of you  with children at home....nod and get fired up.

If you can't view the wonderfully funny video, here are the words set to William Tell.
She is just the greatest....don't miss it.
I might just run this song on full blast each morning, so I won't have to do it myself.

Thanks for all the Kleenex...first day was wonderful...now today starts the real deal.
It is going to be a good year for us all.

(Still 100 plus degrees here...no rain)

Get up now
Get up now
Get up out of bed
Wash your face
Brush your teeth
Comb your sleepy head
Here’s your clothes
And your shoes
Hear the words I said
Get up now
Get up and make your bed
Are you hot?
Are you cold?
Are you wearing that?
Where’s your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and your gloves and your scarf and hat
Don’t forget you got to feed the cat
 Eat your breakfast
The experts tell us it’s the most important meal of all
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at three today?
Don’t forget your piano lesson is this afternoon
So you must play
Don’t shovel
Chew slowly
But hurry
The bus is here
Be careful
Come back here
Did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside
Don’t play rough
Would you just play fair?
Be polite
Make a friend
Don’t forget to share
Work it out
Wait your turn
Never take a dare
Get along
Don’t make me come down there
Clean your room
Fold your clothes
Put your stuff away
Make your bed
Do it now
Do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn?
Would you like some hay
Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone
Get Off the phone
Don’t sit so close
Turn it down
No texting at the table
No more computer time tonight
Your iPod’s my iPod if you don’t listen up
Where you going and with whom and what time do you think you’re coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me
Makes you welcome everywhere you roam
You’ll appreciate my wisdom
Someday when you’re older and you’re grown
Can’t wait ‘til you have a couple little children of your own
You’ll thank me for the counsel I gave you so willingly
But right now
I thank you NOT to roll your eyes at me
Close your mouth when you chew
Would appreciate
Take a bite
Maybe two
Of the stuff you hate
Use your fork
Do not you burp
Or I’ll set you straight
Eat the food I put upon your plate
Get an A, Get the door
Don’t get smart with me
Get a Grip
Get up here I’ll count to 3
Get a job
Get a life
Get a PhD
Get a dose of…
I don’t care who started it
You’re grounded until your 36
Get your story straight
And tell the truth for once for heaven’s sake
And if all your friends jumped off a cliff
Would you jump too?
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said at least a thousand times before that
You’re too old to act this way
It must be your father’s DNA
Look at me when I am talking
Stand up straighter when you walk
A place for everything
And everything must be in place
Stop crying or I’ll give you something real to cry about
Oh!
Brush your teeth
Wash your face
Get your PJs on
Get in bed
Get a hug
Say a prayer with Mom
Don’t forget
I love you
**KISS**
And tomorrow we will do this all again because a mom’s work never ends
You don’t need the reason why
Because
Because
Because
Because
I said so
I said so
I said so
I said so
I’m the Mom
The mom
The mom
The mom
The mom

I have seen this before and absolutely love it.. It is so true!

I sure LOVE my job as mom. I am almost an empty nester now so my job has changed quite a bit. Some days I really long for the time when my 3 kids were young.

One day I will be hearing this phrase from my own daughter to her kids. :)

Nobody, and I do meand nobody can make me laugh like Anita Renfroe! Truly she has a gift from God... This is soooo funny!!

I'll be thinking about you today Janette. I haven't sent a child off to school for 18 years, (son went to kindergarten only) and I can't imagine how exciting/scary this day must feel.

Blessings, Debbie

I just love her! Thanks for the sharing this morning. I was sappy enough to be choked up about the GRANDKIDS first day of school! :)

I always love listening to this, she is US, isn't she?

I saw this a couple of years ago
and laughed so hard at her ability
to even do it. It couldn't be more
true as every mom knows. Thanks for
a good laugh again.
Blessings~

Well done, and with style, you gotta like that. We've launched into the college atomsphere this weekend so my prayer is all these instructions from 12 years of school will kick in when they need to. Hope the first day is great for you all!

We had rain yesterday. I thought of you and my other Texas friends. Even the farmer in the family said this weekend that it would be wonderful if the tropical storm we're watching would just head over the gulf and help Texas.

I love that song in the post. She's so funny! I guess you're reading for your new routine. It's going to be a great year. Get those stadium seats or cushions ready. I just sold mine at our recent yard sale.

That was great. Brought back lots of memories of when my kids were still at home. Now I giggle listening to them talk to their kids. Who says Grandma's don't have more fun?

You know, it's funny how so much has changed over the years except a mother's words (okay the ipod was the baseball card collection and the computer a transistor radio or teevee). And, these words are universal. I grew up in Germany and my Austrian mom had the same vocabulary, just in a different language. And my dad's Norwegian mom did too. How 'bout that?! :-)

I've not seen this for a couple of years and had forgotten it. Glad for the reminder because it's really cute. Bet that you could sing this yourself on any given morning.

I have seen this before and it still cracks me up!

So much truth - I guess there is some humor in all the mess that motherhood sometimes entails!

GOD BLESS - oh yes...
