Betta You Don't Know What Happened

This post is dedicated to those mommy moments where we all have a lapse of mommy judgment.
The story will be told through pictures...which paints a 1000 words, all spoken by Benjamin.

Less than 24 hours...."Mom Betta isn't in the bowl!"  "Now Benjamin he can't jump out!', I chuckled back.

Trip number 2!!!

This time I got smart....I thought.  I bought a cat proof bowl with a lid.

Betta you guessed what happened to Betta number 1!  Now what was I thinking.  The next morning I found Betta #2 on the floor...lid still on, water all over the floor, gasping for his life.  I quickly recovered the fish, added more water and prayed he would live.  Poor Max, he was only being a cat.
Max is now living with Nanny and Papaw, mainly because we can't have a cat at our new dwelling,
however, Betta #2 has now lived for over a week.
This mommy needs to keep her thinking cap on!
Do you have a mommy lapse of judgement story?  Oh please I can't be the only one!

(Thanks for all the precious words on our anniversary.  We stopped, after the whirlwind of the past two weeks of the unknown and took a boxing break. It was great to get back in touch with what is the most important. We are on the downhill stretch and will see what God has in store for us in our new neighborhood.)

To cute Janette, am I going to admit to a lapse in good judgement, No way, I have trouble admitting to memory lapses. {lol}
I loved the grin on Benjamin's face, to precious.
I don't know how I missed your Anniversary post, but I will now wish you a very Happy Anniversary, and may your days be filled with joy to overflowing. Enjoyed the list.
Giving thanks for answered prayer in the move. How Great is our God!
Hugs,
Sue

Don't tell Benjamin that a few years ago, we were moving, and I emptied the fish from the tank into a dark green glass pitcher to get them ready to move into a new home. Later... in the rush of packing boxes and drawers, I poured the 'water' in the green pitcher down the disposal and turned it on!!
Yep, my hubby has accused me of murder for years! :(

Lapse of judgement? Me? Why, no. I don't think I do. I'm practically perfect in every way, kind of like Mary Poppins.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

And btw, congratulations! You got a beta to live longer than I ever have.

This was a fun post, and I'm ashamed to admit that I giggled at grinning Benjamin, but I also giggled at guilty Max.

Having trouble commenting again...
Let's see if this flies.

Oh no...haha....sooo sounds like one of my lapses. I had a beta for a whole year and half...mainly because my grandson Jeffie thought I ought to. Bubbles was his name. One day after cleaning out his bowl I was pouring him back into his fresh home, but I had it to close to the rim and he flopped out, flopped into the sink, and almost down the drain. Jeffie was "helping" me at the time and we were both screaming. How I ever managed to catch that slippery fish BEFORE he met his demise down the drain I will never know. I think the Lord knew Jeffie could never take it, haha. Soo glad your move is almost behind you. Don't work too hard! HUGS, Debbie

I don't think it was so much a lapse in Mommy judgement as you have a hungry cat who wanted fresh fish. I never had any of my cats do that and I have had beta's before. Wow! Where is your new place? You haven't said anything. Do you like it?

Oh, I'm laughing out loud and so is my son. yes, I've had those kinds of moments.

I'm eager to see how God blesses this move. You've been so faithful in your attitude... I know that's now always easy.

Benjamin is a lucky boy to have a mama who would make trip number 2 and reinvest in more secure quarters! Glad this one made it.

I wish I did have a lapse of judgement story but I just don't. I think you're the only one! ;) hee hee...

Blessings, Debbie

Some people are just able to make me laugh and cry at the same time - today, that would be you! Cats will be cats, I guess - and we all know how much cats love sushi!

A mommy lapse of judgment story? Which one do you want to hear - there are many. The one I guess I'll share is when I allowed my oldest son (when he was in high school) to have a group of his high schools friends down to his dad's house at the beach. I was there, too. That part was OK. The shooting of water balloons with one of those huge slingshots was the "lapse" part. It wasn't long before a cop showed up. We saw him coming and hid. I vividly remember hiding in a hallway, with all the lights off in the house, pretending we "weren't home."

I can't say that we damaged anything, and the next day we went out and gathered up all the balloon remnants. But, it probably wasn't one of my stellar "role model" moments. However, I will never forget the look on my son's face when one of his friends said, "Your mom is the coolest mom I've ever met!"

I guess, like you, some lapses just come from the heart...

GOD BLESS!

Janette,

Tee hee. I liked how you shared this picture with photographs. I just hope Max doesn't get sick from eating a live fish, ugh!

That was just too fun! I think we all have had momentary lapses of judgement. However, I would put yours in the readily fixed category. I too hope your move goes smoothly. Do keep us updated.

This was cute, I have to admit I figured the fish was doomed but it was fun scrolling down the pictures to see how it all unfolded. Let's see mommy lapses...how much time ya got?

Janette,

I really loved the pictures... and the big smile on Benjamin's face.

That's quite a cat you have there - you mean Max could topple over a tank full of water?

Glad Betta #2 survived.

Not just you, I also have many lapses of Mommy judgment.

Enjoyable post... Praying for you to find the house that God has prepared for you...

Oh I've had a lot of lapses in judgement. Though not as bad as the day my friend's mom decided to vacuum out the canary's cage. It was a bad scene, a very bad scene.

Thanks for the good chuckle. I am sorry it is at the expense of the fish, please forgive me. I will have to think of a time I lacked in mommy judgement.

Ohhh btw...I reworded that part on my post. I had copied and pasted some of the post and I made it more Mary'eeze.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Your invitation and cake topper really bring back memories. Chris and I got married in '78. Much of what we used is so similar to yours. You must be filled with so much joy!
