He calls back, "I don't need anything, I just want my Daddy." His Dad rushes to his side to bend down and kiss him all over his face as our son lights up in enjoyment...his day has started out right. Just his Daddy's presence was all he desired.
I stood in the door way, having finished my time with my Heavenly Father, thinking isn't that what all Father's want from their children? He didn't want anything, just to see his Dad. Did I approach my Father with the delight of just being in His presence or did I go with a list of desires I wanted from him?
My heart burst into song, which poured from my mouth. My husband lead this song so many times years ago...my heart sang it back to my Heavenly Father.
As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after thee
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee
You alone are my strength my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee
May He be your heart's desire today. May you long to just be in His presence...having a childlike heart of joy while resting in His arms.
Cast boy is doing fine, crawling around while I am learning to just take one day at a time. We go Friday to have more x-rays and another cast. He should be able to walk with a walking boot soon. We are planning a cast signing party next week! Thanks for your prayers.

This is powerful Janette! I loved reading it, and I could just imagine your little one soaking up his Daddy's love.
Jesus told us to come to Him as little children. Your son's heart for his Dad is one fine example of why He urged us to.
Blessings to you...
Oh Janette, I love that your boy wants his daddy. It's so good that a boy has a good relationship with his father. His future wife will be happy for a well adjusted Christian man. :)
I too need to yearn to spend time with my Abba Daddy. A good lesson to learn from cast boy. Not asking for anything but His presence...
Love you and praying,
Debbie
How precious is that? He just needed a little loving from daddy. What a wonderful anaolgy this is. And a good thought for me. Soo glad cast boy is doing well. They adapt so well when they are young. Praying the healing continues to go well. Have a wonderful day. HUGS!
Just beautiful! Is there anything better than watching your child as he & daddy spend special time together??
And you're so right, we HAVE to have that time with OUR Heavenly Father... going there right now! :)
Hugs! (and a special hug to 'cast boy'...)
Bless his little heart. So awesome that your little son knows to just call his Dad to feel better.
Oh lovely thought, and what a sweet little boy to just want his daddy. I feel just like that verse so often my soul will just be crying out, and I find that verse going on around in my head.
This is a beautiful post today Janette, thank you so much for sharing and reminding me how good it is to just want my "Abba Father."
Great remider, Janette!
And the cast-signing party sounds like fun. What a TeRRiFiC idea.
Janette, this is so true that
what our heavenly Father wants
most from us is relationship.
I think we get so busy trying
to do FOR Him that we forget
to just rest and be WITH Him.
I am still praying for your
sweet son and looking forward
to the day when you tell us the
cast is off and he is out running
and playing again!
Hugs,
Sandy
You have been tagged by me if
you want to play!
Love your heart Janette. That is an awesome song-love it too!
What a beautiful post and yes, that we would just want to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior with no list, no wants, just Him.
Praying the cast comes off soon and onto the boot and hopefully a little more freedom.
Much love,
Stacy
Oh, I can so relate to cast boy! My son broke his thigh bone a few years ago, and last year I broke my ankle. It is a battle indeed!
Desiring God...oh yes. I'm there. Isn't it amazing that that's all He wants from us? Can do. Will do. Am doing! I love Him fiercely, and that's just right now. Tomorrow even more so...
Oh how blessed your husband must have been too! To know he's needed and wanted... I can just see the bright smile on his face too.
Encouragement all around the house. How marvellous. Your family is SO blessed!!!
I am constantly learning the most valuable lessons from my children. I too need to yearn to spend more time with my Father in Heaven.
Oh Janette, this post is lovely. Such a sweet four year old little boy. What a privilege to have a complete set of parents bringing him up. What comfort, what security this little Cast Boy feels. How many homes all over the world has a little four year old, no mom, or no dad... or maybe no mom and dad.
This is what I felt as I read your post. What a great privilege this little boy has, to be loved by mom and dad.
I love the song too...one of my favorites.
Enjoy the new day ahead of you. I appreciate getting to know you more.
Love
Lidj
That is so precious!! And what progress with a walking boot coming....
Dear Janette,
Thank you again. For your kind comments on my blog and mostly for this post... Your beautiful blog is always a source of peace n comfort for me. Every post touches a chord... I am so blessed that The Lord allowed us to "meet." I will be ordering that pillow very soon.
((((HUGS)))

AWESOME, Janette, to just yearn for my Father, and to be in His presence!
I loved the story of your son just wanting his Father, priceless!
Hugs,
Sue
I'll tell you what, I've learned far more from my children than they've learned from me! Their growing up years were filled with dots that connect directly to God's heart.
Sweet post!
Kathleen
