Welcome to my eclectic journey of my life and delights. This year my theme is surrendering my writing pen to the true author, Jesus Christ, while looking forward to the future, reflecting on the past and dancing through my journey.

A Season Came to an End

A New Season for daughter and family.

There are seasons in all our lives, some are seasons of rejoicing and others are seasons of grin and bear it.  There are times of abundance and times of famine....in different areas of our lives.  It would be nice to say that not all of us going through these seasons, but then, that wouldn't be life.

In each we have the chance to learn.  There are times I love learning and times I am sure the Lord feels He is dragging me through the growth He wants for me.  Each season is for His glory and not for mine.

Two years ago we went through a long period of unemployment and insecurity.  During this time I put my hands to the plow.  I opened up two businesses. One I named my Leah and one my Rachel. Both businesses provided for our family.  One, however, wore me out.  This year it brought anxiety and body aches.  I pleaded before  God for strength or provision to quit.

Two weeks ago I took the leap of faith and quit.  I called someone else to take over my clients and the transition has begun.  When I jumped off, God provided through a commission check through my husband's job.
New Season, Spring...outdoor movie with Grandson Joshua and Benjamin.

As summer approaches I find myself in a new season.  HOME!, ready for summer with Benjamin and available for the coming babies...all three.  I now have time to try to enlarge my decor business.
A New Season for our fifth child as he graduates.

As Benjamin said today, "in a few weeks I will be a fourth grader!  Can you believe how fast this year has gone by?  That means when it goes fast it has been a fun year!"  I had to laugh, what a wonderful outlook on life.
Benjamin is the youngest in the Strings Ensemble.

We close the school year with violin concerts, field day at the school and graduation of our fifth child.  A new season for us all.  Our son will enter college in the fall, Benjamin will enter 4th grade, our son will complete his new home (with his brother's construction business), our third son started a new career and three babies will be born.  This Mom/Grandmommy will see what the Lord has in store for me.  For now, I am jumping for joy over closing one business and entering a new season.

These are very exciting times for you and your growing family.
I am amazed at how time had flown by.
I remember when Benjamin was a Kindergartner, no married children and no grand babies!
Sometimes, it fun to look back in the rear view mirror, while driving forward.
I'm happy for you!!!

I also believe there are seasons in our lives. And yes, we can choose to learn through each one. It helps me to look back and see how faithful God is so I don't worry during the next season of uncertainty. I learn to put my faith and trust in God. He is faithful and He does provide what we need, when we need it according to His will.

I'm so glad you will have this summer at home Janette.

Love you,
Debbie

Yep, we can all soo identify with this! Nothing ever stays the same for long...seasons come, and seasons go. And with each one come the good and the bad, the happy and the sad. You are in such a GOOD season of your life now. Benjamin still at home and needing you, but old enough to be involved soo much in his own little life. And all those new and existing grandbabies!! Doesn't get a whole lot better then that in my opinion. Cherish it all, linger in the moment, this season too will pass. Sooo glad you were able to lay aside that other business and have this summer with all those babies and concentrate on expanding your decor business. God is soo good!

I am so glad though that you will be at home with Benjamin this summer. I know that is where your heart would be. Also with the new babies coming, you would always be neither here nor there. I am glad God showed you that you needed to be back at home. We are truly Older women now, and our job is to be teaching the younger women to love their husbands and to love their children. I believe that is our mandate, and God will provide the rest. Blessings to you, my friend, it is just one step, one day at a time. :)

I'm just loving this new season of yours, and can hardly wait to see what God brings forth! Do you see me cheering you on?
Just love reading about my sweet friend, Benjamin, He might be the youngest, but I bet he is the most dedicated!
I have been in a season of my own wanting a change too, and also asking God to release me, but He hasn't yet!
love you dear sweet friend!
Wishing you and all the mothers in your family a very blessed and Happy Mother's Day!

Oh I am so happy that you were able go leave the exhausting job behind. It's enough to clean our own homes. I know how miserable it was for me as a forty year old so I know that you mean it when you talk about the aches and pains. So much to look forward to with the new grandbabies on the way. Exciting times! Tell Benjamin to slow down and enjoy...it's not going to go any slower... ; >

I'm so excited for you! I have weathered a variety of seasons in my life; some I liked more than others. But they all served to blow me forward to today.

In God's economy the best is always yet to come. Wishing you great joy as you settle into new times, new opportunities.

Hugs,
Kathleen

Life comes and goes - complete with all the ups and downs of living. I have so enjoyed *sharing* your journey over the last few years. More than anything, Janette, you speak to me of God's unchanging faithfulness in every moment.

Can't wait to meet the new babies! And to join you in the adventure of the next steps!

GOD BLESS!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Congratulations on your new season of one less business! And the newest grandbabies. I am entering an exciting season myself this year - retirement in August. This old body is having a hard time with the 7a to 6p schedule with the 1 hour each way commute. Time for me to move on to my other career, writing. I know God will continue to provide for you and give you some time to rejuvenate.

You have had a full year! We've had quite a few different seasons the past few years. I am learning what it means to slow down a bit too, but I am able to read so much more than I used to, and that has been good :)
Good to see you again.
Blessings,
Marcia
