A Chihuly Day

The Lord smiled on Texas this summer and instead of our regular 100 plus degree days of August, a cold front blew through, leaving us with wonderful weather.  Maybe last years record 100 plus days gave us these wonderful two weeks, leaving us able to enjoy the summer with outdoor adventures.  The Chihuly Exhibit at Dallas Arboretum was on display, so off our adventures feet took us, to soak in the last of summer.  All of these were created out of blown glass. The large yellow glass tree took three weeks to assemble.

Dallas Arboretum gives an August special pricing 1/3 of the regular price...I am sure to bring in visitors on what would normally be too hot to attend.  We took advantage of both..the reduce price and the wonderful weather.

I hope you enjoyed our walk through pictures.  Now I am not a photographer..and yes, I should probably take classes...but this is what my little point and shot captured.  I am sure this is magical at night.  It was even more magical for us since just  weeks before our son had proposed to his wife-to-be...blown glass never looked so beautiful.

If you come our way...take time to be inspired also.  We sure were.  It was a wonderful day in August.

Good morning! So glad you have had some nice weather to finish your summer off. Especially after last year's heat. Ours is STILL quite warm....

This looks like a really beautiful place to visit. I have never heard or seen such a thing...soo pretty.

Congrats on your son's engagement. Hope all else is well.

Have a good week! HUGS

What an amazing exhibit! I would love to see it in person. And how nice that your weather is cooperating...for now! We had a couple of beautiful weeks, too, and now it's heating up again.

Thanks so much for the kind words on my blog post today. I really needed to hear them!

Ohhhh how I wished I could have walked through that exhibit with you! I have watched Chihuly's video and loved it. I have also seen some of his work in Seattle. I grew up near Seattle and love to say he is a Washingtonian. I remember my brother taking me to watch people blow glass at certain places in Seattle and being soooooooo mesmerized. And I am glad you got a bit of cool weather to refresh yourself.

I am really hoping to be back in blog land by the end of Sept. I have been so busy but I had to pop in and say hello.

Blessings and ((HUGS))

I love exhibits like this though I don't think I've ever seen one that spectacular. Glad you all could go.Our August has not been nearly as hot as previous years either and I love it. In fact, our yard has been full of leaves, even some pretty orange ones, for days now. I think autumn is coming early.
Hugs~

Amazing! Your photography is great! I really like the white flowers in the pond...so ethereal and magical in the Narnia sense.

Oh, I have heard about these gardens and Hubby and I plan to take them in on one of our trips to Dallas. Seeing your pictures really makes me want to go now.

Yes, you do need to see the movie 2016.

Very pretty! The cool temps are almost hard to believe. Surely we will fry a bit more before fall really arrives. We have enjoyed it with walks through the neighborhood, nothing nearly to pretty to look at there but enjoyable none-the-less.

Field trips are SO worth the effort, aren't they?
