Maple Leaf Cookies, Crazy Hair, Pumpkins and Cast

SO LONG OCTOBER!

In Texas we are still having hot weather, but the leaves are starting to change, and November may usher in cooler weather.  Change of temptature or not we still enjoyed our October.

Falls arrival means cooking.  Apple Dumplings and Maple Leaf Gingerbread Cookies.
Saturdays spent watching our fourteen year old play baseball.
We began the morning with Crazy Hair Day, thanks sissy, and ended with a broken bone.
Pumpkins and Gourds have arrived for us city folks.
We still made it to the Pumpkin Patch and Hay Ride.
God reminded me that so many deal with the obstacles I dealt with at the pumpkin patch...carrying cast boy  around, yet their struggle is permanent.  I will now watch for occasions to help some one out...we were offered very little assistance....what a shame...MAYBE IF YOU PUT DOWN YOUR I-phone YOU COULD HELP and not miss your own children's adventure! (sorry soapbox moment)
We end the month with stories and a movie on Martin Luther.  Now we move into a month of Thanksgiving and two birthdays.
What a great season of seeing God's faithfulness!!
Good-bye October 2010!

Everything looks so festive with
all those pumpkins and gourds.
So your leaves are just starting
to turn? I'm afraid all the winds
and rain we've had the last few
days have taken most of our pretty
leaves and dumped them on the
ground. Oh well. It was beautiful
while it lasted.
Hope your little guy has a good
weekend and all the rest of the
family as well.
Blessings,
Sandy

Can't believe how fast that month went huh? We went out to the local apple picking place yesterday and the weather and scenery was just gorgeous...I waa just loving all the colors on the trees. We don't get much of that in So. California, but it was sure "fall" looking THERE yesterday. Have a wonderful week-end...HUGS

I like the way you did that putting everything that happened into a good-bye note. I love the hair! Your weather is so much like ours. Even how brown it looks in the picture of the pumpkin patch. It is my prayer that your November will be filled with blessing upon blessing.

I will pay better attention to November to see how God blessed me during the month instead of being glad it was over. :)

What a month you've had! And November looks busy too but hopefully without anymore drama.

I'm already looking forward to January, my hibernation month. I know November and Christmas will be busy.

Wow, that is some crazy hair, what fun!
I love the maple leaf cookies. They are so pretty.
Sorry you didn't receive much help at the pumpkin patch. That iphone incident would have bothered me too.

Cute hair! I love all the fun fall festivities despite the warm weather.

It's amazing how inconvenient and uncomfortable situations cause us to have more of a sensitivity for others who are struggling. And yes, get off that cellphone. :)

love, Debbie

I love the "eclecticness" of your posts! It's a genre we share, which is probably why I so enjoy visiting. I never know what to expect, or what I'll find, but it's darn certain I'll come-and-go with something to think about.

So long October!

Blessings,
Kathleen

I need a maple leaf cookie cutter like yours... what fun!

Yes, Reformation Day is October 31! I forgot all about it! Thanks for the reminder. Now I must revisit an old post that I wrote about him. He was quite a character. It's amazing he wasn't martyred!

Enjoy your weekend, Janette.

Sweet memories! (except the broken bone!) Is the last picture from a book or movie?

I've been so busy with getting ready to move - usually we do some Reformation Day activities but this year.... Maybe I'll just have the kids walk around saying "Soli Deo Gloria" while I throw candy at them :)

Love the maple leaf cookies! So sorry about the broke bone. Hope all is better... Looked like everyone still had fun! Have a great weekend.

Your little boy broke his leg? Oh no! Well you've still managed to stay chipper and he is probably rolling with it even better than his parents. (Oh I so well remember the days of broken arms. Three of them between two kids with two arms each. Ha!)

It's always fun to see autumn arrive all over the country and it's celebrated in much the same way regardless of temperature. I think those maple leaf cookies look beautiful and they've got to be tasty.

Since the summers here in NYC are hot and humid I welcome the fall. The cool and crisp air that is blowing, the leaves changing colors, and the pumpkin bread in the oven are signs that fall is indeed upon us.

God bless you.

P.S. Do share that pumpkin bread recipe:)

Ouch for the leg, what a pain. I must admit I have struggle at times when my boys were little, eg getting prams on and off buses (before I learnt to drive) and no one came to my aid. I felt like crying sometimes.

The colored hair looks like fun and so did the hay rides.

Have a relaxing weekend, if possible.

Lovely pictures. I love all the gourds. We've had so much rain and very windy days these last weeks of October.

Martin Luther -- have you seen the newer movie? It's excellent.

Blessings to you.

(And I think I need some crazy hair)

So sorry about the little ones' cast. My mom was legally blind most of my life, and many folks rushed to "get in front" of us at most places ~ so thoughtless and rude! I have great compassion for any kind of "challenge." Really pretty and festive photos. Sounds like Nov. is going to be full of fun and activities too.

Groovy hair on your little one! lol! I should try those colours next :P haha

Can't believe it is November already... this year has gone way too fast!

It looks like you have been busy! I love the hair do!

By the way, I am distantly related to Martin Luther. Glad to hear your kids are learning about him.
