Precious Things Comes in Threes

Back in the day when your only communication was through a phone, which was tied to the wall, and only talking to one person at a time, we announced the gender of all our children through this means of communication.  Only one of our six did we know in advance what we were expecting on delivery day.  That was our fifth and all four children were in the room the day the sonogram announced brother number four.  The first four were disappointed it wasn't twins.  Nicole had wanted a sister and the boys another brother.  In the end Nicole has enjoyed being the ONLY girl.

As our third child was born my husband had a creative way of announcing his arrival.  Each phone call from my hospital room was started with the theme song from My Three Sons.  Without a word, the family member or friend could guess that the Wright family had a third son.

As the gender of our third grand child was announced to me through modern day text, I called...not texted, the soon-to-be grand daddy with this announcement.

I NEED MY FARM!  THESE GRANDSONS ARE GOING TO NEED
A PLACE TO ROAM!

Then in Lucy style I told him go sell whatever body part needed to buy it.  (Please laugh, he knows I am joking)

So the Wright family will be welcoming two grandsons in the fall months to play with Joshua, grandson number 1!  Uncle Ben is thrilled.

Now let's talk about the lack of pink around here.

I have had four boys...the pink girl didn't wear pink, she played softball..and now THREE Grandsons.

I hope you can hear my excitement............BOYS!  God must have made me a woman for boys.

Now let's also say, my farm can do pink.  She can come and learn to sew, cook, garden, read, draw, paint and of course, dance.  There will always be room at my farm for little girls.

As for my grandsons...well, they can come help Grand Mommy plow the back forty!

So history is sort of repeating itself with your three in a row grandsons! I have a friend who is a grandma, and starting with her mom, which makes four generations, not a single boy has been born. You wonder if they would know what to do with one. :-) Congratulations on the boys!

Oh, my goodness! I would say you are pretty much a "pro" with boys by now and are about to more of a pro. I know you are and will be an awesome Grandmother. Blessings abundant as you await their arrival!

Hooray! I was WAY wrong. I predicted two girls! I watched reruns of My Three Sons when our oldest son was a wee baby! It soothed me as I tried to figure out how to be a good mom!
Congratulations!

Well I was right I think..BOTH are carrying boys, haha. You and I are both boy heavy...3 sons for me and only 1 daughter,(who never wore pink either!) and now 7 grandsons, and 3 granddaughters. Definitely could use some girls over here too. And yet all these boys are soo wonderful. I am happy for your daughter and dil though, the same sex cousins are going to grow up being best buds. Soo happy for you Janette!

We are expecting a grand-boy late October bringing the total to 6 boys and 5 girls. Being a mom of four girls makes having these guys around very special.

Thanking God for His wisdom in sending us Just What We Need and for shaping us into the image of HIS Son!

Praying that all these men in your life will continue to be shaped, yielded to and used by our Lord for His eternal purposes.

(And those are not just "spiritual words" I'm writing!)

So clearly, I am NOT a prophet. Who knew? I had said two girls. I should have known that your genes run deeply into the next generation, but since my husband was one of five boys and we had girls, well...

I know you're so excited, and the thought of the three of them being so close in age and playing all over grandma's place in true boy style makes me grin. (What was your grandma name again? I forgot.)

And btw, just a factoid that you probably don't care a lick about: My Three Sons is my favorite television show of ALL TIME. I have watched every episode 4000 times.

Wow; more boys! Congratulations Janette. One day you just may get a farm and you'll have lots of workers. :)

Love,
Debbie

This is so exciting, ( I told you I was generally wrong about predicting gender) just think of all those little boys playing together, what fun you are going to have, I am so excited for you, congratulations

You know, I should have gone with my instincts - I had this *feeling* that there were more boys on the horizon!

At any rate, our prayers will be with the mommies, and these precious new babies being formed.

GOD BLESS!

(Why am I humming the theme from "Green Acres"??)

God always gives what He knows we can handle, and for you, it appears to be boys, with a side dish of girls. Congratulations! By the way, my only daughter refused to wear dresses, let alone pink! Influence of older brothers, do you think?
