Click on Play Me and you can see this project all over the world.
Pianos were spread through out our home town inviting you to come play. Over 400 have been played around the world as an art project inviting everyone to play and decorate the pianos.
Right along the Colorado River in Austin, Texas, music was sent into the air.
Music Filled the Air!
My son with the heart of a rock star and loves being in front of people...he is at home in the world of music. |
Psalm 150:3-6 (New International Version, ©2011)
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the Lord.
My daughter who loves an audience and boldly played for everyone and talked to everyone |
We only had time to locate four of the fourteen displayed throughout the city. Check out the web page telling about this project all over the world. Now I am researching all events that might be coming near us this spring and summer. What a way to be part of history and create memories!!
Truly our God is a creative God....let's enjoy His creations!

What an incredibly cool idea! And, how wonderful that you and your family could take part in it! I love all the pictures of your musical family sitting at the various pianos. Oh, it makes me yearn to have a piano in our house. I took lessons as a child but never got very far. My sister was the one with the musical talent and could play any instrument she picked up. I always struggled with my piano lessons. Still, there is something so relaxing about sitting down at a piano and playing something. Thanks for sharing this great story Janette!
Super cool!!! What a fantastic project. I love the idea.
Your family is so awesome!
What a wonderful idea and project to be a part of!! I LOVED it. And how fun it would be to part of such a musical family. I play the piano a little bit (as does my mom) but that's about it over here. Mel started to learn and now regets that I had to fight her so (she showed some talent) to even learn what she did. She just wanted to be on the ball field...sigh....How I would have loved someone with the creative talent for music. ENJOY that over there! HUGS
wow Janette,,,that is way cool... what a great idea.. and you captured it so well with your photos.. you go girlfriend.. glad you had a great time.. Great post..
xoxoxo
That is so much fun. I wish we lived closer to Austin. They will put a grand in our mall at Christmas for people to do that and it is so cool to listen as people play as they come in. That would be even better. So glad you shared that what a fun day.
What an amazing event. What joy to the Lord's ears...I love our creative God and how he gifted his children with songs of praise and thanksgiving. I hope you had a wonderful Easter.
This is very cool and something fun to be a part of! Great memory!
Wow! That is such a great event! How blessed to have so many musicians in your family. I am not musically inclined, yet love to sing praises to our LORD :)
whoa...love these pianos...the colors..the creativity that went into making them like that....wow. And what a super cool idea.....
What fun! I had never heard of this. It's so cool that your family got to be a part of it.
PS Gee Whiz. You have such talented kids.:)
What a great idea!! Our son would have loved that. He's an artistic 21 y/o ham. Knew how to play instruments without lessons although we took him to guitar and music theory lessons for many years to sharpen the gift. Now he's a certified fire fighter finishing up his paramedic studies and I cannot believe it sometimes. So many years praying over that gift and he resists it. But God. Who knows, maybe he'll minister in fire houses. :)
Love this. Thanks for sharing.
how fun!!!! i will pass this along to my waco
kids so they can enjoy. may His praises be
played on pianos all over the world!
Not only did you make History but you created a family treasured memory!
This post is inspiritional!
What a very talented family you have!
What a neat idea! Great that you and your family could take the opportunity to point to the One who gave us creativity - God! Were the pianos in tune? Had to wonder about the effects of rain and humidity, etc. on these instruments. Have a wonderful week! God bless!
This is so cool! Love it. And, what a great family time.
That is a wonderfully creative idea! Your community is pretty hip and happening. It was fun to see so many in your family participating.
Oh my.. how fun is that!!! What a great opportunity and what an amazing musical blessing your family has!!
Thanks so much for sharing this..
WOW! This gave me goosebumps! Music filling the air, reaching to heaven! So creative!

Heart-lifting, eye-poppying pianos.
God bless you - Marsha
That is just the coolest...
I love the idea and hope it catches on!
Blessings, Debbie
Incredibly uplifting - I enjoyed this!!
What a great idea. I have always envied anyone who could play the piano. I took lessons, but it was definitely NOT my thing!! But I totally appreciate those who can play...
Praising the Lord along with you!
GOD BLESS!
Hope you had a wonderful Easter.
What an amazing thing! Sounds like you have a SUPER talented family.
They did something similar in sydney (Australia) which I saw on the news. A cool idea. Your family must have had heaps of fun playing these pianos. Thanks for sharing this great story.
I love this!!! Janette thank you for sharing your photos.... your family is not only beautiful but talented as well!

How fun is this! And, what a musically gifted family you have! Wish I could had been around to hear you guys! Amazing :)
How fun is that?!!! I would have loved that-don't play so great but still way too much fun. What great memories as a family too. Love the photos too.
Hugs!
Jill
P.S..that image of your son playing with white column behind the piano up into the sky, was if the music from that piano was propelling up to God!
Oh, I wish I had been there with you to see all of you playing and to experience it in person!
You inspired me....I DID write a poem about it...just now! :)
come see! xo
LOVE this!! I think it's just wonderful when communities, large or small, do things like this. It's double creative (maybe triple) when you consider the creativity that it took to come up with this, plus the art work on the pianos, plus, of course, the music.
I couldn't help but think how much my brother would have loved this. He would have gone from piano to piano.
Awesome! I will be posting about this project later as I will be in NYC next weekend! Going to scope out several throughout the city.
Janette, I'm so glad you liked my poem. I was equally touched by your family's part in history. So much so that I felt compelled to compose something as I remembered of each of you! I thought how wonderful it would be if the entire world would simultaneously praise the Lord in song....one day, every knee shall bow. It will be even more beautiful than we can imagine.
How blessed you all are to have been gifted with so much musical talent...you are using for God's glory. xo
I am so impressed. What a talented family and what an amazing project. Thank you for sharing.
Well how wonderfull was that! I never saw anything like that when we lived in Austin. Maybe we just missed it, but I am LOVING those pianos and the fun of your own family getting to sit there and play. The pictures are wonderful, and the memories will last forever.
I think the first one is my favorite!
xo
Wow, talk about a talented family! There must be a piano DNA in there somewhere.
Blessings,
Kathleen
Fantastic! You certainly were a part of history! Praise the Lord! :-)
