As soon as I turned the page of the calendar from January to February my five-year-old was on me to decorate for Valentine's Day.
What is funny is his tall (all over six feet) older brothers were all this way until they hit the age of male maturity????
I am going to enjoy the last few years of excitement from my last male, before he packs up the excitement bag. So I decided to decorate for him.
He is still at the age of giggles, smiles and tons of Mommy kisses.
The table was enjoyed by the whole family for his brother's 22nd birthday. Fondue adorned the table.
We lit the candles, even if the older siblings think it is silly, Benjamin's eyes glowed in excitement.
I have to add my female touch to the male-dominated attendance to our party.
These paper hearts have hung from different light fixtures through the years...maybe the older siblings noticed and remembered. Commenting wouldn't be cool.
Since my older ones aren't into mommy kisses like Benjamin, I reminded them by tying a ribbon around their glasses. Even if they feel they are too old, their Mommy still loves them.
Now I can go spend the evening with the Love of My Life..He is still my Valentine after 33 years.

I Wish You and Yours a Very Happy Valentines Day!

two years ago i threw the biggest valentine

valentines and flowers. i think it put me over
the edge. :)
i'm so happy you still have a sweet little
valentine to decorate for.
love,

How fun....I have been soo out of it this year for some reason...didn't even send Valentine cards to my grandkids...My oldest son (38) has brought me a single rose EVERY Valentine's Day since he was old enough to buy his own and get it to me (16 or so?)...how sweet is that? I am thinking it won't happen this year though since we moved more than 30 minutes away from him...haha. HAPPY VALENTINE'S day to you my friend! HUGS
What a sweet post! Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day! You sure know how to fill a house with love! Always so warm and festive.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!! What a pretty table and really cute decorations. That is a really sweet idea. My love brought me roses early this morning. A dozen red roses, just what he gave me 17 years ago today on our first date.
I hope you have a blessed day today with the loves of your life too.
Hugs
Jill
Very sweet and I am so glad you still decorate. I love decorating with red and white so I still get excited about it. My kids just smile but I know they like it too. Have a happy day.
I love it ALL, Janette! It's been a little low key here (except for a few homemade pieces for my two Study Group participants and four for the four grandchildren we saw Saturday.
(Since I'm already late to get them in the mail by TODAY, I'm going to get sale items tomorrow to send to the other 6 who live too far away to see. Is that SO cheap, or what?)
Oh, I know what you mean about the older ones... but, lately my thoughts have been, they need to be exposed to the way "girls" like things. From the silver to the crystal to the hearts and so on!
Sounds like fun was had by all, even though the (six footer's) might not have shown it. :)
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Just beautiful Janette! Those boys are (oldest) and going to be (rest of them) wonderful husbands some day. You have set a great example in all that you and Bill do :) Happy Valentines Day to you sweet friend. Hugs, Sonii
I love the thought of hearing your little one's giggles of excitement!
And having the whole family gathered round the table is a sweet gift. Happy Valentine's Day to you and the love of your life! xo
I think I've said this before, but somehow I'm sure that celebrating at your house is ALWAYS fun!! :)
That table setting is gorgeous!
I had to laugh when I read your comments about some of the kids being too old. A few years ago I decided to start a new tradition here. I bought bags of candy and trinkets for my youngest boys for V-day, and placed them by their pillows. The next day my 16 yr old found out about that, and He grudgingly asked where his was! Of course I ran out and bought more stuff.
I guess what it all comes down to is that we all need to be loved. Especially on Valentines Day.
Soo great! Love all the decorations! I know...the older they get, Valentine's just isn't the same...but oh, the joy your little one brings :))
Everything looked so pretty, Janette! Love how you said you had to add your female tough (did you mean tough or touch? I kinda like "tough" myself! Sometimes it DOES take a little female muscle to remind the testosterone bunch that we're STILL GIRLS!) Hoping that your "big" boys at least gave you a hug!
Enjoy the day with your hubby - and a great big HUG and KISS from me!!
GOD BLESS - Happy Valentine's Day!
Looks like you had a lovely evening before and after dinner. During (the fondue) must have been delightful too!
Happy Valentine's Day, Janette! ღ
It all looks fantastic, and I guarantee even the big tall boys really thought so too. After all, their mom's "the bomb".
Isn't it wonderful to have a little one around to keep things sweet around the house?
And speaking of sweet... How come I've never noticed that picture of you and your valentine laughing before? That's wonderful!
What a beautiful way to celebrate the month of love - decorating with a personal touch. Your pictures were lovely, truly a reflection of the love that flows out of an overflowing heart.
I purposely dropped by here to send you valentine greetings, across the miles!
So thankful you are a friend of mine.
Love
Lidj
Happy Valentine's Day to you too Janette, and yes do keep it going, and enjoy every day as He will have so many memories to take with him through life!. Great job,!!enjoy your evening.
Hugs, Sue
What a sweet entry! I had a brother 13 years younger than me and he always kept celebrations so much fun for us.
Glad it was a "Happy Hearts" day for you and yours!
Happy Valentines Day to you!
xoxoxo
Wow - you did such a beautiful job of decorating your home - but not just that - making your family feel loved! Thanks for your example and inspiration!
A belated Happy Valentine's Day to you!How wonderful that you decorate for your youngest son!! Your table looked beautiful! Although they may not seem to appreciate it now, I'm sure your older sons will look back on what you did and want their wives' to do what you did! God bless!
A beautiful table for a Valentine and birthday. I know, down inside, the older ones loved this just as much a Benjamin. :)
So fun stopping by to visit with you!
Kindly, Lorraine
Good morning friend,
I love your Valentine table and after raising three sons I understand exactly what you mean about the hugs and kisses.
I get quite a few hugs but the kisses are a little harder to come by--smile!
I love it that your little one still gets so excited about decorating. Enjoy it!
We just went to our grandson's last high school home basketball game ever on Monday night--it seems he grew up even faster than my children--I have no clue where the years went.
Love you,
Dianne
So stinkin' cute! I like Kermit the best :)
Hugs for the day after, the day after Valentine's Day!
Kathleen
That's right! We do these things not because they like necessarily "like" them, but because they NEED them. It'll always be true and one thing is certain, they'll remember the fanfare and the extra ways you've let them know how much they are loved. Glad that you and your Valentine had such a good day.
Hi there, thanks for your visit. You are blessed to still have a littler one to decorate for and I know the older ones love it too! Come say hi any time :D
