I BELIEVE!

As I prepare my heart for the Easter/Passover season I heard this song.  As in the past, I love to share the songs that are stirring and strengthening my walk with my Savior.  After the meeting on Human Trafficking I needed to be reminded that God is still on His throne and holds us all in His hands.

I hope you are encouraged by these words and song.  Here is my Sunday Singing, dedicated to my Grandmother.

Words and music Newsboys

In this time of desperation
When all we know is doubt and fear
There is only One Foundation
We believe, We believe
In this broken generation
When all is dark, You help us see
There is only One Salvation
We believe, We believe

We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He's given us new life
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He's comin' back again, we believe

So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing
And in our weakness and temptations
We believe, We believe!

We believe in God the Father!
We believe in Jesus Christ!
We believe in the Holy Spirit!
And He's given us new life!
We believe in the crucifixion!
We believe that He conquered death!
We believe in the resurrection!
And He's comin' back again!

Let the lost be found and the dead be raised!
In the here and now, let love invade!
Let the church live love our God will see
We believe, We believe!
And the gates of hell will not prevail!
For the power of God, has torn the vail!
Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, We believe!

We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He's given us new life!
We believe in the crucifixion!
We believe that He conquered death!
We believe in the resurrection!
And He's comin' back,
He's comin' back again!
He's comin' back again!
We believe!
We believe

  4. The Newsboys are so terrific. And yes, we do need to be reminded, rise above the circumstances as we see the hurt and heartbreak in the world.
Like Matthew West's song, "My Own Little Life":
Father, break my heart for what breaks Yours
Give me open hands and open doors
Put Your light in my eyes and let me see
That my own little world is not about me

  5. So good to read these words even without the music as I concentrate on each one. I do love the music when I hear it too!

  6. I've been listening to this song non stop since seeing them in concert at Winterjam last week. It's so powerful. What a great testimony - I feel it's anointed power, too!

  7. Love the words-these were my favorites--

So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing

    That inspires me!

  9. I like the Newsboys--what great words. We have to keep this focus with all the bad news we hear each day.

  12. "In this time of desperation

Janette, these words comforted me as I continue to mourn my dad's death, and as I find myself wearied by caring for my mom.

Yes, HE is my Solid Rock.

    GOD BLESS!

  13. I could go back and share a comment on every post that I've missed. I should do that, I guess, because I found myself with something to say on every one. For both my time and yours, I won't do that.

I've been so away from anything technical that I haven't even watched the news. (OK, I DID watch TV the day that our precious Mercer beat Duke in March Madness, but the whole family was gathered around the TV to watch that. )

I have missed so much, and in so doing have missed the chance to be encouraged and convicted by reading here. Your words on a post a few posts ago did just that. If it's "easy" for you to ostrich, imagine how it is when your children are out of school and far away.

I can see what's happening in the world around me and do not want to be an ostrich. Yet, I struggle with the burden that putting myself out there brings if that makes sense.

For me, I keep remembering something I heard Joyce Meyer say on TV years ago. It was something like this: I see women all the time who are trying to claim dominion over major Satanic forces in this world when they can't even claim dominion over a sink full of dirty dishes."

    Or something like that.

Sadly, that sink full of dishes is ME these days. Praying for a clear mind and sink and then a mission field.

Sorry this is rambling. I am actually summarizing my thoughts from various recent posts here.

  14. Janette, I love this song; hadn't thought of it in a long time! Mostly, I love that you're claiming its Truth after coming face-to-face with the hard realities of trafficking. It's a "whole different world" isn't it? I'm thankful to know you're out there practicing dirty faith. May God bless your obedience.

  17. I am back even though I have already commented here because I read your comment on my recent post.

We are in the exact same place, Janette, and I don't quite know what to "do" about it. You clearly read the heart message that I had in those cards but didn't include in a narrative on the post.

I miss your regular "sage" words. I mean, I really... really MISS them.

  18. Just peeking in to wish you and yours a Blessed Easter. I read those words and they sure "feel" right for the circumstances we find ourselves in.
