Surrender

This is where I am right now...a place of surrender.  My face is to the wind as I trust the Lord with the direction His wind is blowing our family sails.

We will be moving to a new house...unexpectedly, but the winds blew so strong that they couldn't be ignored.

God is also changing the wind on our home schooling after 22 years.  We are looking into our fifth child attending public high school in the fall.  This will be another new experience for our family.

My husband is adventuring into new job opportunities...working two jobs now.

Me....I am standing solidly on the rock!  I am seeing how I don't enjoy change...so surrender and trust are required again.  He was faithful last time and will be this time.

My verses today were these
Psalms 37:23 -26
The steps of a righteous man are established by the Lord;
And He delights in his way.
When he falls, he shall not be hurled headlong;
Because the Lord is the One who holds his hands!
I have been young; and now I am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Or his descendants begging bread.
All day long he is gracious and lends;
And his descendants are a blessing

Thanks to all of you that are praying for us during this season. Your words of encouragement and testimonies have given me wind under my tired wings.  My posts may be more spread out as I seek His face, cry some tears, pack and anticipate the goodness of My God.  This is just part of the Great Adventure.  He has something wonderful in store as I surrender.

  3. I will be praying for you until you have a answer and see His leading. "In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul." Psalm 138:3
    "Lord Jesus, Master of my life, my very breath is in your hands. Remind me throughout the hours of this day to depend on You for the help I need and to ask You for it. (A Lamp for My Feet, P 112)

    He is faithful and He will guide and lead you.
    Hugs,
    Kim

  4. Janette, I do not change well either I will freely admit. But I always love reflecting on the fact that the Lord KNOWS every little detail of my life from my beginning and all the way to what will be my last breath here some day. There are no surprises to Him. And He has ONLY my good in mind. Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. So wherever you go your surrender to His will and His leading IS the answer. There can be actual excitement to see just what He has in mind. I will definitely join you in prayer as you go through this season in your life. HUGS AND BLESSINGS to you, Debbie

  6. Oh Janette, I know how frustrating this can be. Another change and time of uncertainty it seems. As you know ...been there and done that and I'm still there. :(

    Hang in there my friend. I am praying for you.

  8. This is a beautiful post Janette! And you're right, He does have something wonderful in store for you. Because it's all about Him. You've submitted to His will, and as soon as we submit we get the peace that passes understanding and we move forward. Stand on that rock! Because He's about to move you in mighty ways!! I'm praying for you.

    Blessings, Debbie

  15. Psalm 37 was instrumental in my own life challenges. I clung to it's message like a drowning victim, and of course He held me up and took me to a better place. Blessings to you and your family during this difficult time of change. I will keep you in my prayers. The other Psalm that has sustained during numerous crises: Psalm 27:13-14: I believe to see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living. Expect the Lord, do manfully, and let thy heart take courage, and wait thou for the Lord.

  17. I have always had the feeling that you're an adventuring soul. Me too. It means that life is always something to be scaled, even if I have to be dragged there to do it.

    All I know is that view is amazing when at last you're atop whatever it is you're scaling.

    Praying for focus, resolve and incredible peace.

  19. I am not sure of the circumstances of your move, but I remember last year when we lost our home (after 16 years) it could have been devastating. But I choose to stand on the Rock. He got me through. He is with you now and will carry you through. Praying!

  20. LOVE the picture you found to illustrate what you're doing. I love the standing on the rock part.

    I waiver (not in faith but in strength) during transitions in my life. I'm doing so right now.

    What you have written about not fighting against the wind but surrender to the One who owns the wind was just what I needed this morning.

    I will pray for you through this and wait in anxious anticipation for your good reports at every turn.

  23. Such beautiful sentiments, Janette. And the picture says it all. Stormy winds blow, but the Master can still calm the sea.

    I'll be praying for you and the many transitions in your life. May you find the Rock to be ever so solid - and may you continue to stand firm.

    Please stay in touch - love to you and yours!

    GOD BLESS!

  25. Will be lifting you up in prayer. You are where you need to be surrendering to him, trusting him.
    "The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun sorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.' Isaiah 58:11

  26. Janette, I hope you feel encouraged and loved by the prayers being spoken for you and your family during this transition.
    I love that photo...it is such a great visual...It speaks freedom and freedom comes from surrender and none of it is possible without our solid rock!!! Your faith shines and I'll look forward to hearing more about your new discoveries within this adventure!xoxoxo

  27. Just praying dear friend! I know that you are trusting our Lord and believing that He knows the plans for not only your but your family and what is best each step of the way. His ways our higher than our ways and thankfully He knows and sees the whole picture-praying that you will rest in Him. Praying the whole house thing falls into place too. Are you moving away from the area or just to a different home?
    Love you-hugs-great post.
    Hugs

  28. Janette,check this out...In my little ministry for my church in which I read the weekly bulletin over a voice mail system (for the blind), I immediately thought of you and smiled: this week-end's service is entitled:
    "I SURRENDER ALL" -- and
    The first hymn being sung is:
    “THE SOLID ROCK”, followed by:
    “Everlasting God”, then,
    “Psalm 62 – My Soul Finds Rest in God Alone”
    “Jesus, All for Jesus”
    “All Glory Be to God on High"

    Scripture Reading Philippians 1:3–11 (ESV)
    "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
    And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."

    I felt as though I was supposed to share this with you.

    God is doing a good work in you!

    Amen? :) Amen!!! :)

  31. Oh Janette, I will be praying for you. Change is so hard, but God has a NEW SONG for you and your family. "He set my feet on a rock and He gave me a new song."
    He knows you and your heart and needs and fears etc.. and He the Great Maestro knows exactly how to make your new song and all of the changing notes involved, into something magnificent!

    Big Hugs and I promise to pray!

  34. Difficult as it may have been to receive, God's direction re. a change in houses came pretty clearly....For that and the fact that your husband has jobS, I am thankful.

    I'm sure enrolling your son in a public school is a HUGE step of faith. Where He guides, He will supply!

    I pray for you now as I type....I will pray when God brings your name to my thoughts. ♥

  35. Just stopped by from a friend's blog, and when I saw the word "Surrender," I thought, "Uh oh.." because I've been here.. and still am, actually. We had our two children in Christian school for several years, then I had to homeschool for 2 years, then it was a HUGE adjustment for me to send them to public school this year. I too do NOT adjust well to change. UGH! and beginning in 2010, my life has been nothing but C H A N G E! Talk about wanting to start a "You can keep the change" campaign!? LOL Anyway, the verses you mentioned are very good and JUST what I needed, because the winds of change are blowin' and I actually have no idea where we'll end up. . .but thankfully I'm trusting the LORD to lead us on, day by day...as I surrender. Sending a hug and prayer for you and your family too as you are undergoing some serious change. :) I'm learning: it'll all work out... "just give it all up to God and it will all be just fine." (Job 22:21) :o)
