May I Pray! May I Knock! May I Enter Your Gates with Thanksgiving!

As I continue to look forward to the celebration of Passover and Easter I am stepping back to prepare my heart.  Unlike other celebrations through the year I don't spend much time decorating, but I take that time to focus on my walk with the Lord.
This piece on prayer is from my pastor Matt Chandler.  He is walking through brain cancer, as we all petition through prayer, believing for his healing.  I believe you will be encouraged by this very short exhortation on prayer.

Praying for your pastor. I have a friend who has been in total remission (healing) from brain cancer for 16 years. God is good.

  18. ..you who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves..
How guilty I am. I may get real about my situation the first time I bring it before the Lord but then I just throw off reminders to Him. But He says "you who remind the Lord"...Take no rest? I doubt that I have ever prayed to this extent before! One wrenching, heart-felt prayer followed by worried reminders does not constitute prayer without ceasing. Thanks Janette, Debbie

  21. Prayer is an area of my life that I *pray* God helps me go deeper...

What a wonderful pastor you have - what a testimony he is to so many - even those of us who don't attend his church. Prayers continue for him and his family.

    Thanks for sharing, Janette.

    GOD BLESS!

  22. Janette,

I really enjoyed hearing this short lecture on prayer from your pastor. I wish that my prayer life was this good, but shamefully, it is not.

I missed the scripture in the video where it mentions that God actually wants us to "bother him" with our prayers until the New Jeruselum (sp) comes. Wow! That verse totally blew my mind away!

I pray that your pastor will find healing from his cancer. This must a scary time for him.

    Blessings,

    -LR
