The Wright Turkeys wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! |
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness,
You are more blessed than the million who won't survive this week,
If you have never experienced the danger of battle,
The loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation,
You are ahead of 20 million people around the world.
If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment,
Arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than almost
Three billion people in the world
If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head
And a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change
In a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy
If your parents are still married and alive, you are very rare,
Especially in the United States
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful,
You are blessed because a majority can, but most do not
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder,
You are blessed because you can offer God's healing touch
If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in this
world, that cannot read anything at all
You are so blessed in ways you may never even know!
This was the poem I copied for our Thanksgiving a few years ago. I framed it and placed it on the table with our Thanksgiving praise sheet. I do not remember where I found it, but the truths were so strong that I wanted to share it. Happy Thanksgiving...see you next week!

I found this poem somewhere
ReplyDeleteon the internet just recently
and had forgotten about it.
Now that you've brought it
to mind again I want to copy
it and put it up somewhere
in our home.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hugs,

Just beautiful. Thanks. I do have so much to be thankful for-I am blessed beyond measure.
ReplyDeleteI pray that you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
God showed me last night how truly grateful I need to be daily-some friends from our SS class were headed to Children's because they found a tumor on his brain. They are going for further testing a a plan of attack but they are almost sure it is cancer-he is 8 years old. It has saddened my heart today greatly-made me hold me kiddos a little tighter and to praise God that at least for today, we are so healthy compared to most.
I went back to the post on your Pastor again last night and just wept-beuatiful-they are trusting God as well to heal their son-but they did say that he accepted Jesus last year and they know no matter what happens that he will spend eternity with God and that they will see him again some day.
I am thankful for you and the friendship that I have gotten to have with you because of the blogging world. smile
Thank you for being you!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs
Jill
