You Know Better Than I - Sunday Singings

You know better than I
You know the way
I've let go the need to know why
For You know better than I

This has been my hearts cry this week.  As I burst into singing this song over and over I seem to knell before His throne in the confession of "You know better than I".  This week God spoke so strongly about his Sovereignty, so this song echoed what God was teaching me in my spirit.

This song is from Dream Works- Joseph, King of Dreams.  The video is just as powerful as the music.  Then again, the story of Joseph alone is powerful.  My little guy's middle name is Joseph!

I hope you have time to listen, watch and enter into the Throne Room of God.  Sunday Singings are dedicated to my grandmother who would take me to "singings" in East Texas.

I thought I did what's right
I thought I had the answers
I thought I chose the surest road
But that road brought me here
So I put up a fight
And told you how to help me
Now just when I have given up
The truth is coming clear

Chorus 1:
You know better than I
You know the way
I've let go the need to know why
For You know better than I

If this has been a test
I cannot see the reason
But maybe knowing
I don't know is part of getting through
I tried to do what's best
But faith has made it easy
To see the best thing i can do
Is to put my trust in You.

Chorus 2
For, You know better than I
You know the way
I've let go the need to know why
For You know better than I

Coda:
I saw one cloud and thought it was a sky
I saw a bird and thought that I could follow
But it was You who taught that bird to fly
If i let You reach me
Will You teach me.
(Repeat Chorus )

For, You know better than I
You know the way
I've let go the need to know why
I'll take what answers you supply
You know better than I

  1. Janette,
That songs touches the inner parts of my heart. And the story of Joseph, so powerful. Thank you for sharing that today. My heart is worshipping God and thanking Him that He in fact "knows better than I" and so I trust Him with each step.

May He meet us both in the throne room and continue to encourage our hearts on the paths He has allowed and in the end, may we be like the tree Joseph planted...strong, vibrant and blooming with faith!

    Much love on this Sunday,
    Stacy

  2. This is the very message we need every day! 'You know better than I'...

He does! Knowing that is what guides us, gives us peace, and hope in the middle of whatever is going on in our lives.

What a perfect way to begin this early Sunday morning Janette!

    Hugs!

  3. Thank you Janette for sending
    such encouragement my way early
this Sabbath morning. I love the
story of Joseph so much anyway.
I wasn't familiar with the song.
    It's wonderful too.
If we can stay in that place of
knowing that we know our Father
knows so much better than we do,
    everything we need, how much
    easier our lives will be.
I am remembering to keep that
little guy of yours in my prayers.

    Love & Prayers,
    Sandy

  4. Just beautiful Janette, and oh-so-true!

Our Father sees the bigger picture and the best thing we can do is simply trust Him. His viewpoint is more far-reaching than ours!

Thank you for your encouraging comments on my blog... you blessed me :D

  5. What a simple yet profound truth. He KNOWS better than I. If we could always just wrap our heads around that and really let it sink fully in. I do try to trust Him with my every breath knowing just this. I too love the story of Joseph. Soo good. My oldest son is named Joseph. Have a wonderful Sunday my friend. HUGS, Debbie

  6. Always my favorite in the Bible, If I can ever decide is the story of Joseph. When I am scared and life seems crazy that is where I turn. I love the music of that movie too.
The Joseph song done by Jars of Clay??? It one of my favorites. I always get DC Talk confused with Jars of Clay. I hope you baby is doing better with his little leg and I hope Mommy is doing okay too.
I will keep praying for you. :)
I hope it is a good week.

  7. What a wonderful song! Letting go of the need to know why is so hard at times, but that is when we are most able to rely on God as we should.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Blessings,
    Marcia

  8. This song was new to me - but the truth that He knows better than I is an "old" one--one that I need to be reminded of frequently! Thanks, Janette. God bless your new week. Let's keep encouraging each other and building one another up!

  12. It doesn't seem all that difficult to comprehend when one thinks about Who God is, yet it seems to come to us in fits. He does know better, so why am I so often heard telling HIM how it ought to be?

    Great reminder! Great son.

  14. Hey Janette!

I popped over from Sandy's and wanted to thank you for your comment on my guest post on her sight "Jesus is in your boat". My heart wrenched when I read that you too have walked the journey of having a child near death...crushed between two cars!! I can't even begin to imagine what you went through!!! BUT GLORY BE TO GOD FOR HIS MIRACULOUS HAND THAT RESCUES, SAVES, HEALS AND RESTORES!!! THANK YOU JESUS!

I looked around here and so blessed by your blog. Love this post and yes, Lord...YOU KNOW BETTER THAN I! Amen!!

So glad to meet you and following along now. Hope you'll stop by my place for a visit sometime. I love meeting new bloggin' sisters in the Lord!

    Sweet Blessings!
    Jackie
