Sunday Singings - Shout
My "Sunday Singings" post is dedicated to my grandmother who would take me to "Singings". Each week I will post a song that spoke to my heart that week.
This song started in my ear on Monday. I would say it is one of the top songs of the 90's. I usually feel all forms of praise with this song...kinda how I imagine it will be in heaven. Shouts of joy, dancing in celebration, and then eventually bowing prostrate before a Holy God becomes my posture of worship during this song. I am also going through a Bible Study on Genesis...the pictures in this video show His wonderful creation. Genesis 1:1 - In the Beginning, GOD created the heavens and the earth.
This song introduced Hillsong (Church from Australia) to the world and I can still see all the precious people around me through the years as we worshiped to this song. My husband usually sat at a black grand piano, praising God through the playing of the keys, as I joined in to worship with our children in the congregation.
My grandmother would have loved it!
Don't miss the video and join in singing - "Shout to the Lord".
*My little guy broke his leg this week, so we have a new adventure for the next six weeks.(first break out of six children... amazing!) Our praise is that his leg didn't have to be set and our precious friend took care of him. New temporary adjustments for our family.
Oh your poor little pumpkin! I hope it heals really fast. What a little cutie he is too!
ReplyDeleteThe song you mentioned will always have a special place in my heart Janette. I was saved in 96 when these songs were all new. I remember singing this song many, many times in our Church services in my early days of walking with the Lord.
To be honest, I preferred Hillsong worship songs from those earlier days more than the music they produce today. I remember fondly, this song also: 'You've taken me, from the miry clay, and set my feet upon the rock'...not sure of the song title exactly lol.
Bless you sister, as you begin this new week...
Oh my gosh, Janette, how on earth? The poor baby the look on his face is so precious. Poor you! I am so sorry I will keep your family in my prayers. We have never had a broken bone either.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with you today.
the look on his little face just got me! Bless his heart. Life moves to the slow lane for at least sa short period. It is pretty amazing how fast these little ones heal though!
ReplyDeleteGive him a hug for me!
I love your song choice, i've hummed it a zillion times, never gets old, does it?
Hugs!
Bless that precious heart. His
ReplyDeletelittle face is so beautiful and
makes me want to cry. I am still
praying that his little leg will
heal quickly and perfectly and
that he will feel closer to Jesus
than he ever has through all of
this.
I would rather listen to music by
Hillsong and Fernando Ortega than
any other! Shout to the Lord is a
definite favorite.
Love,
Sandy
Love that song!
ReplyDeleteHope your little boy is feeling better soon. He has such an adorable face.
I am sorry to hear about the little one's broken leg!! He is so precious. Thoughts and prayers for all of you.
ReplyDeleteI do think the balloon was from Plano!
oh poor little guy! his sweet face looks
ReplyDeleteso miserable.
i pray that you have the grace to help
him get through this.
and guess what? i just got my beautiful,
elegant pillow. i love it, and it exactly
matches the paint on my kitchen walls.
how amazing is that? thank you so much
for thinking of me.
love,
lea
That is an awesome worship song that glorifies the majesty of our Lord.
ReplyDeleteMay the Lord heal your son's leg and may he feel no discomfort....in the name of Jesus!
I do want to say that I appreciate you stopping by my blog. May the Lord's face continue to shine upon you and your precious family.
Have a blessed week
I love this song too! I'm so sorry your little guy broke his leg and has to deal with this cast. I know trying to slow down a 4yo isn't very easy :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Blessings,
Marcia
I'm not a fan of hill song, a bit too pop for my liking, but the words are good.
ReplyDeletePoor liitle thing - can the cast get wet and be ok? At least it will be off before summer.
That was just beautiful and very close to the images and words that passed through my head as I fell asleep last night! THANK YOU! I can't wait to show Sarah and Jack later. Love n hugs to you and your patient. Wish we could come do a puzzle with him!

I really don't know how I somehow miss a post. Guess I am somewhat of a glue. But I knew I'd missed something when you mentioned your son so I checked and sure enough I didn't see this post. Poor little guy. What a cutie he is! We had only 1 broken bone with all 4 of our kids too which when I consider all the sports, that was truly miraculous. It was my youngest son and he was 16 at the time. Broke his wrist in 3 different places. I'll never forget it. 6 foot 3 inch HUGE 16 year old guy crying hysterically he was in soo much pain. I cried right along with him. Hopefully your littlen sweetie will heal quickly and won't go too stir crazy on you. Can he walk on it at all or does he need to stay off of it? Much love to you both, Debbie
ReplyDeleteoh btw, LOVED ths music ~ so many memories

One of my favorite songs sung by one of my favorite groups, so anointed. When i am here at home i put this cd on and worship my Lord in all ways, I dance, I sing, I lay before Him.
Thank you for sharing, your blog is such a blessing.
Hugs,
Sue
Awwww.... my oldest was born with severe clubfoot so we've gone through many, many casts. Hope your little guy is feeling okay and that you all have the grace you need to deal with a temporary invalid. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, your poor little guy! He doesn't look too happy either. I'm praying for your patience and his healing quickly friend.
ReplyDeleteI love that song and Hillsong. I actually got to see them in person when they came to a local church in Phoenix. I got seats very close up and what a worshipful experience that was.
Ahh, I loved reading Amanda's comment. She was saved in 96. Oh my, how glad I am that her name is written in the Book of Life. I've enjoyed her blog from Australia.
Blessings and much love to you,
Debbie
Love the song, Shout to the Lord! The story of creation fits along so well with the worshipful words. Thanks for sharing!
