What a wonderful Grandma you had and that she loved the Lord and to sing! I love that your husband sang the songs she chose for her funeral.

My mom had her whole funeral planned in advance. She even wrote out the songs and who to ask to sing them. It made it so much easier for us when the time came. She even left a letter for each one of her children. It was so special to receive that after the funeral.

Love you,
DebbieDebbie Petrashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08235978883396499354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-292398111323195424.post-69829450709366687172010-10-05T04:57:15.877-07:002010-10-05T04:57:15.877-07:00I know that music in the heart is a gift from God....I know that music in the heart is a gift from God. It has helped me through so many trials and has also been a family fun thing we've done together down through the generations. Even when I am having trouble sleeping, I will sometimes lull myself to sleep by humming a quiet tune in my head. (in my head so hubby can sleep without hearing me!)You will have to pop over and hear my girls and 4 yr old granddaughter singing together on the video I put on my post on Sunday.

It's so special that you are going to start your Sunday Singings post in honor of your grandmother. I'm sure she will be smiling as she looks down on you and hears this sweet sound Janette.LeeAnn@Encouragement Is Contagioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11115472068334541489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-292398111323195424.post-33907843276898909122010-10-04T14:01:14.275-07:002010-10-04T14:01:14.275-07:00oh, you are so sweet to say, "if you find thi...oh, you are so sweet to say, "if you find this
too hard just close your eyes and listen."
i remembered it just as i began to feel
overwhelmed.

so moving that i did have to look away.

i had a singing grandmother, too, one more
thing we have in common. this saturday i
sang at a funeral of a dear classmate and
sort of 'lost' it. so humbling to be that
fragile in front of all the 'kids' i went to
school with.myletterstoemilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17555607498974287844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-292398111323195424.post-30726714536534466772010-10-04T10:36:15.249-07:002010-10-04T10:36:15.249-07:00So sorry to hear of the losses, so many at once, w...So sorry to hear of the losses, so many at once, what a blow to your community...I lost a dear, dear friend to cancer several years ago and it shattered her immediate family (four children)...may your community hold on to those precious children left behind that they might be enveloped by God's love during the healing process...and may the mother suffering the loss of her child be comforted through the community, as well...healing from the loss of a loved one is such a personal, intimate process...may the Lord our God be with each and every one of you during this time!

Music is such a wonderful way in which the Lord speaks to our hearts...the song you posted is a soothing balm!partialemptynesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07186017253768114708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-292398111323195424.post-3066040611715136582010-10-04T08:25:38.847-07:002010-10-04T08:25:38.847-07:00Tears.... I am just now catching up on emails and visiting my blogging friends, so an email back is on the way.

I love that you will be sharing songs on Sundays from your Grandmother. Singing is balm for the soul and always lifts my spirit. I must admit, I couldn't bring myself to watch the video, as it hits a bit too close to my heart right now. This week, I'll take your word that the song was inspiring and moving. :)

It sounds like it has been a hard week of losses. They are lucky to have you in their lives as I'm sure God is using you to bring comfort to their lives and hearts.

Much love,
StacyStacy@hiswaynotminehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07860455863650090143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-292398111323195424.post-51110912876523203202010-10-03T16:42:36.530-07:002010-10-03T16:42:36.530-07:00What a beautiful Grandmother you had.

Families left behind without the touch of their mother, brother, sister etc.

The video you posted was so moving. What a sudden illness she seemed to suffer from. Her smile remained consistent through it all. Even the children and husband showed great strength and peace at her memorial day.

It goes to show how much we must treasure each and everyone of our precious family and friends. We must make every day count, even our own.

Bless you Janette...Amandahttp://www.amandassecretgarden.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-292398111323195424.post-84690941255076500192010-10-03T13:22:41.576-07:002010-10-03T13:22:41.576-07:00I love that you sing as a way of remembering your ...I love that you sing as a way of remembering your loved ones.
