This past fall I was overjoyed to add a new *daughter* to my life. I am so grateful for the Lord's blessing of my oldest son's new wife. I am blessed by her presence, and by the good relationship that we have. She's my friend.

Nothing is diminished. I have found that there's just more corners created in my heart to love more people!!

GOD BLESS!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00840994989201507494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-292398111323195424.post-8577005078033953412014-05-12T12:29:43.511-07:002014-05-12T12:29:43.511-07:00This is the best tribute to a mother in law that I...This is the best tribute to a mother in law that I have ever read. (OK, except the one that God wrote in the Book of Ruth, but you weren't trying to compete with Him anyway.)

I love everything you said.
My MIL seemed to be so different for the years that she was alive. In the one year since she passed, I keep realizing how VERY VERY much alike we were. It's amazing that in so many ways, my man really DID marry his mother.

(And I'm voting with "Ruth" in the gray hair election. Your husband has a wonderful head of it. He's hunky, you know. I hope it's OK for me to say that because I think my own is perfectly hunky too. On the other hand, honestly I have the two best daughter in laws any woman could ask for, and a son in law I love dearly. I have such GOOD GOOD relationships with them all and I never felt I lost any of my children, but truly gained 3 more. That old saying about losing your sons to their wives is just not true! At least in our cases, huh? How blessed we are! You and I might disagree on a few points, but mostly I'm just thinking you've done so much right. What might we disagree on? I'd prefer to have my son sign my cards with them noted as "Mom" instead of my given name as my daughter-in-law does. Other than that, I'm most blessed. She is a thoughtful gal and the mother of two wonderful boys whom I am proud to call my grands. (I did know John's mother before she passed away and I'm sure that she would have been surprised to know that I would one day be her daughter-in-law. We'll get reacquainted in Glory.)
